Motorists need to be on the watch for volunteers cleaning highway roadsides in the Cochrane area this Saturday.

Saturday, May 6 is the annual provincewide highway roadside cleanup that takes place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Volunteers from nonprofit organizations in orange safety vests will be collecting trash along highways across the province.

Drivers are asked to slow down, obey signs, watch for pedestrians, and use caution when passing cleanup crews.

In some regions of the province with wildfire activity, and in the event of poor weather, some areas may also complete the cleanup on May 13, or delay until later in the month.
