The Zone 2 qualifiers continue to be held across the region for the upcoming Alberta 55+ Summer Games in Brooks, Aug. 17 to 20.

Cochrane's Seniors on the Bow hosted the floor shuffleboard qualifier on Mar. 25 for a zone some may better know as Big Country.

Zone 2 director Doug Campbell says 20 seniors competed, all over the age of 70, with the top two teams earning the right to advance to the summer games.

He says determining the teams that advanced also offered a  fabulous day of fellowship and sportsmanship.

Cochrane is hosting the 3.5+ pickleball qualifier on Apr. 29 and the bocce qualifier on May 13.

Other upcoming qualifiers include swimming, Apr. 4, Calgary; military whist, Apr. 13, Strathmore; cornhole, Apr. 15, Strathmore; and golf, May 25, Turner Valley.
