The Cochrane Chaos may have still been recharging from their 1-0 win over the Central Alberta Amazons when they dropped their first game since Nov. 4 in Alberta Female Junior Hockey League action.

The Edmonton Wolves came out howling and doubled the Chaos, 6-3, here in Cochrane, Jan. 14. The Chaos were sluggish early in the game but went on to outshoot their opponents, 36-22. The Wolves used both of their goalies in the match and starting goalie Sydney Williams was perfect in the 20 shots she faced in 35 min. of play.

Chaos head coach Derek Loomer says the team's game didn't kick in until the third period. They rebounded from a 5-0 to close the gap to 5-3 before the Wolves scored an empty-netter.

He's confident the team will rebound with wins this weekend.

Cochrane goals came from Ryannn Altwasser, Kiera Davidson and Faith Gette, who also had an assist. Two helpers went to Ashley Richard and singles were awarded to Breanna Martin, Jenna Wasylik and Elizabeth Wong.

The Chaos are home Friday, Jan. 19 against the Lethbridge Eagles at Totem One before playing a unique outdoor game against the Calgary Titans (watch for more details) on Saturday in Springbank at 2 p.m.

The Central Alberta Amazon slipped back into first place with a 5-4 win over the Calgary Warriors on Saturday night. The Chaos, though, have a game in hand. While there's plenty of action remain yet in the regular season, there's a good chance the two teams will end the season tied for first. Should that be the case, the Chaos would claim top spot because of their winning record against the Amazon.
