There's no place like home. Just ask the Rage.

The Rockyview Junior 'B' tier 2 lacrosse team came out fired up and chalked up a win in their home opener at the SLS Family Sports Centre, May 11.

Rage players return to the bench after introductions during their first home game of the season at Totem One.It was a special night for the new entry in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League that included spotlight introductions of the roster, participation of minor lacrosse player during intermissions and an announcer with the booming voice akin to a Roughnecks game.

The game was tied after one and the Rage took a 7-5 lead into the third. The Wranglers fought back but the Rage held on to win, 9-8.

"It was very exciting for the boys," says Head Coach Kent Proctor. "They played really hard and deserved the win."

It's early in the season and the Rage have now notched a few wins as they gain valuable game experience. Proctor previously said their schedule was top-heavy, but that may help climatize them to the league's intense play.

Minor league Rage players took to the floor during intermissions.

In the south division, mere points separate most teams, except for the Red Deer Renegades. They remain undefeated in their first eight outings.

After a long-weekend break, the Rage will be back in action. They're on the road against the Calgary Axeman, May 26, before returning to Totem One on Sunday May 27, to take on the High River Heat. Game time is 7 p.m.
