Both the Bow Valley Bobcats and Cochrane High Cobras ended their regular Rocky View seasons with wins last night.

On the road, the Bobcats secured first place overall with a 44-29 win last night against the Springbank Phoenix. The Cobras defeated the George McDougall Mustangs, 69-31.

The pair of wins left the Bobcats and Cobras tied with 5-1 records but an overtime win over the Cobras gives the Bobcats first and a bye from the first round of playoffs. Quarterfinals are on Feb. 27 and the Bobcats enter in the semifinals on Mar. 1 at home. W. H. Croxford and Chestermere Lakers finished tied with 4-2 records but Croxford takes third after beating the Lakers in the regular season.

Tonight both the junior and senior high boys team of Cochrane High are at home against the Bert Church Chargers in a game that doubles as a "Hoops for a Cure" fundraiser for Kids Cancer Care. It's also senior night for the Cobras and their final regular season game. If you plan to attend, try to wear purple, the colour of youth cancer. The junior Cobras play first at 6 p.m.

Quarterfinals for both boys leagues also open Feb. 27.

The senior high teams are all off to the Strathmore tournament this weekend that will determine their seeding in the zone finals being held Mar. 8-9. Cochrane High is hosting the senior girls' zone finals while the senior boys' Cobras will be heading to Bert Church in Airdrie.
