Keep your fingers crossed for clear skies tonight, because the full pink supermoon should be visible from town this evening.

While not actually pink in colour, the full moon in April gets this name from several sources, one of which is because of the wildflower growth that comes with this month.

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, supermoons average 7 percent bigger and 15 times brighter than a typical full moon.

Tonight will be the first of two supermoons expected for 2021. The next will take place on May 26 and is expected to be bigger and brighter than tonight.
