The COVID-19 numbers over the weekend increased by 1,125 new cases.

Friday saw 470 new cases, Saturday 386, and Sunday 269 cases. 

Hospitalizations continue to drop and sit at 463.

ICU admissions increased slightly to 98.

Sadly, another six deaths have been reported bringing the death toll in Alberta to 3,217.

To date, 88.4 per cent of Albertans have now received one dose of the COVID vaccine while 83.2 per cent are fully immunized.

Cochrane is reporting 47 active COVID-19 cases and Rocky View County has 65 cases.

Cochrane schools’ status:

  • Fireside School has an outbreak status of 10+ cases.
  • Bow Valley High, Elizabeth Barrett, and Glenbow School are on alert with 2-4 cases.

Child-size doses of Pfizer vaccine have landed in Canada.

The province hasn’t detailed yet how the doses will be made available.
