Alberta's male hockey team will finish fifth at best in the Canada Winter Games after losing to Quebec, 8-2 in the quarterfinals late yesterday afternoon.

Alberta faces off against Manitoba today to determine 5th and 6th place.

Alberta came out of the preliminary round with a 2-1 record, beating Nova Scotia and Ontario before falling to British Columbia.

Cochrane's Kadon McCann and Bragg Creek's Lochlan Tetarenko are part of Team Alberta.

Alberta's female hockey team plays its opening game of the preliminary round against Nova Scotia on Feb. 27. Local hockey player Raedyn Spademan is a member of the team.
