A reminder to Cochrane residents that if you are a pet owner, your 2022 license is coming due.

Under the Town’s Animal Bylaw, all dogs and cats are required to be licensed if your pet is over three months old.

In 2021, the Town moved to annual license renewal in January of each year, but because of some technical issues, the process has been delayed by a month and the notices will be sent out this week.

Manager of Financial Services, Tanya Galon, says, “We appreciate the support of all Cochrane pet owners in renewing or acquiring a license for their pet.

The license is used to reunite owners with their pets when they are lost, and the fees are used to support the waste bag dispenser program. Monies collected from licenses also go to providing emergency care to injured animals.

Pet owners can renew their animal license online using the Town’s eServices portal and payment is due by February 28.
