Spring has sprung and with that comes the annual spring food drives in support of the Cochrane Activettes Food Bank.
The Cochrane Food Bank typically sees a decrease in food donations from December to March and they heavily rely on the annual food drives to restock their shelves.
The Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area is once again preparing for a series of food drives throughout Cochrane's residential neighbourhoods, as well as some recently added neighbouring communities.
For the past two years Helping Hands pivoted its usual plans to comply with COVID-19 health and safety regulations, and still assist the Activettes in keeping the shelves stocked at the food bank.
Like last year, they are holding two food drives this Spring and two in the Fall, each being held in a different section of Cochrane.
The Spring food drives are scheduled to take place on April 23 and May 28, 2022. The first will take place in Cochrane's East/Central neighbourhoods and the second drive will take place in the West Side.
The fall food drives are currently scheduled to take place in the North on September 17 and they'll be door knocking in the South neighbourhoods on October 22.
