The Cobracats high school girls rugby team remains undefeated on the season after a fun 7s tourney on Friday and a tougher Calgary Irish 15s Icebreaker the following day.

The boys' team also had a strong showing in the Icebreaker, winning games against Notre Dame development and Highwood, then tying Foothills Composite, before losing in the final to their arch-rivals, the HTA Knights.

CobraCats girls assistant coach Brian Morgotch says the 7s mini-tournament at Calgary's Lord Beaverbrook was a chance for their grade 11 and 12 players to have a little fun, and the Icebreaker was an opportunity to give all their players some field time.

"Overall, it went really well. We went undefeated, but we didn't make it to the finals due to point differential."

Both teams are in Okotoks on Thursday for a rematch against the Holy Trinity Academy (HTA) Knights.

Next Monday, the teams have a home stand against W. H. Croxford Cavaliers.
