Things didn't go as planned when three assailants broke into a Bearspaw home shortly after 9:30 a.m. this morning (June 1).

After forcibly entering the home the crooks were greeted by its residents. Startled, they made a quick exit and promptly fled in a vehicle, described as a beige or grey Toyota hatchback or possibly a Matrix.

Two of the assailants were masked and armed with firearms, report the Cochrane RCMP.  The third assailant wasn't masked and apparently unarmed.

No one was injured during the incident and nothing appears to have been stolen.  This investigation, however, is in the preliminary stages and the police have not yet determined if this was a random attack.

The three assailants are described as follows:

1) Caucasian male, 180cm (6') thin build, wearing all black, and masked with an off-white balaclava with "skeleton teeth" and brandishing a handgun.

2)  Caucasian male 170cm (5'6") thin build, wearing all black with black balaclava, carrying a long gun, possibly a shotgun

3)  Caucasian female 166cm (5'5"), very thin build, brown hair in a ponytail, black windbreaker jacket, not visibly armed.
