The Cochrane Block Party has been postponed due to poor weather. 

It will be held on September 28, 2024 to coincide with National Good Neighbour Day. 

Cochrane is full of great people, and now is the time to celebrate all our great neighbours.

Great Neighbour Week goes next week but to kick it off, Cochrane Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is hosting a free community block party event on Saturday. 

Event goers can enjoy hot dogs, glitter tattoos, music, lawn games, food trucks, and entertainment, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cochrane Historic Ranche Park.

Brianne Sachdev, Community Development Worker-Neighbourhoods said the whole week is just about being a good neighbour. 

"We're promoting people to host block parties and get out to the events on Great Neighbour Week, which is June 15 to 22, we have 24 events that are geared for everybody of all ages. We just want people to get out, connect and meet one another."

The block party trailer comes fully equipped to help ensure your party is a great time explains Sachdev. 

"Most block parties are all about gathering with friends and neighbours and bringing food, so it's usually a potluck or hot dogs and hamburgers. Getting out street games, with the Block Party Trailer we do have two hockey nets with hockey sticks and a whole bag full of sports equipment and games."
