Cochrane Volunteer Services is recognizing the gems of Cochrane with a morning at the movies on April 22.

National Volunteer Appreciation week kicks off April 23 -29, and to celebrate volunteers are treated to snacks, refreshments, entertainment, and three movie choices to recognize their gift of time.

Brenda Dennis, Volunteer Services and Community Programmer, says this is their 27th year recognizing those individuals which make Cochrane what it is, a community with heart.

"When you are in a room with 400+ volunteers at an event, we're talking about people who give up themselves, the energy is just awesome. I always so volunteers are the heart of this community, this community is incredible."

The Bow Valley Fiddlers, Cochrane Fun Van, Cochrane's Mayor, Council and Senior Staff, Cinnamon Heart Bear, Cochrane's royalty, and Family Community Support Services staff will all be on site for the morning event.

Dennis says on top of a great event over 150 door prizes will be handed out throughout the morning and a big thank you needs to be given to the local business community.

"This is the most giving community, these businesses are so generous"

You will have a choice of seeing Hidden Figures, Sing, or Going in Style at the Cochrane Movie House. Tickets are available now only at Family Community Support Services, don't delay as this event fills up quickly.
