The Cochrane Chaos open the best-of-three AJFHL south final against the Lethbridge Eagles on Saturday (Feb. 24) night to kick off a doubleheader of female playoff hockey action at Totem One.

They held their final practice last night in preparation for the game.

"The girls are excited to get into the second round," says Chaos head coach Derek Loomer. "We played the Eagles three times in late January, early February, so there's not going to be any surprises. It's just a matter of being prepared, ready to outwork them, and score on our opportunities."

Loomer says they'll be focusing on limiting the opportunities of Kendi Lundell and Brooklyn Palmer, two of the Eagles top players.

"We really have to be ready to work hard for rebounds, make sure we get traffic in front of the net, and make life miserable for (Carolyn) Demchuk so that we can put a few pucks behind her and hopefully get a few goals to give us a cushion as we go through the game."

Game time is 5 p.m.

At 7:45 p.m., the U18 T1 Chaos are hosting the Okotoks Oilers in round two playoff action of the Rocky Mountain Female Hockey League. It's the first in a two-game, total-point series that wraps up in Okotoks on Sunday. The winner advances to the league finals.

The Chaos beat Red Deer in the first round, and Okotoks eliminated Airdrie.
