The Cochrane Chaos went 1-1 in their first home stand of 2024.

The Chaos improved upon an early performance against the Edmonton Wolves, but still fell short, losing 3-1. Tied 1-1 after the first stanza, a powerplay goal by Sydney Dutertre put the Wolves ahead, and Nayha Johal tapped in the insurance goal.

Kaylee Stagman scored Cochrane's lone goal from Quinlan Laverdiere and Kelly Stanford, the top scorer in the AJFHL.

In November, the Wolves, the top team in the AJFHL, won at home against the Chaos, 6-1.

Sunday, the Chaos took a 4-0 lead before Kira Barham scored the Foothills Storm goal of the game on a powerplay at 12:30 of the third.

Kaylle Stagman, Quinlan Laverdiere, Kirsten Gawley and Sabrina Allen were the Chaos scorers.

The loss dropped the Storm to last in the south, but a mere five points separate fourth from second.

The Chaos continue to have a firm grip on top spot in the AJFHL's south division with a comfortable 19- point lead. Cochrane is 15-3-1-1 after 20 games.

The Chaos kicked off 2024 with two road wins against the Fort Saskatchewan Fury and Sherwood Park Steele.

The Chaos have a pair of home game this weekend at Totem One, opening with a Friday night contest against the Calgary Titans. Saturday, the Lethbridge Eagles are in town for a 5 p.m. game.
