Are you interested in researching your family's genealogy? If so, there is a free service available right here in Cochrane.

The Cochrane FamilySearch Centre, located in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1100 Gleneagles Dr., is delighted to once again be open to the public.

You can drop in without an appointment Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Other time slots are available by appointment only by emailing ab_cochrane@familyhistorymail.org.

The centre offers free sect-free family history classes, free research help, and free access to several family genealogy sites, such as Ancestry.ca, that normally require payment.

"We want to let people know we are open again and want to help anyone interested in researching their family history and genealogy," says Deanna Bullock.

Before COVID, they ran classes at both the centre and the public library, but at this point have only resumed the free service at the centre.
