Tax season has returned and the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is back for local residents.

It is offered by Cochrane Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) and provides eligible residents assistance with filing their 2023 income taxes.

In collaboration with trained community volunteers, the program assists residents in accessing essential and relevant government benefits.

“This important service would not be possible without our community volunteers,” says Kim Krawec, Manager of FCSS, Town of Cochrane. “Last year, four volunteers assisted with filing 651 tax returns. The tax assistance provided through this program has positively impacted hundreds of seniors, children and low-income individuals by ensuring they receive all obtainable benefits.”
