The Cochrane High Parent Grad Committee is looking to get the word out to grad parents and guardians about the upcoming grad banquet to be held on June 3 at the SLS Family Sports Centre.

Parent and grad committee member Karen Henry says, “At this point, I think we’ve reached all but 40 parents of our grad student body now so we’re happy with that. But it would be nice if we could reach those last 40 so that everybody feels included.”

Since Cochrane High School is presenting just the graduation convocation and not the banquet, the Grad Parent Committee does not have access to all the contact information for the graduating class.

Henry says, “We’re not able to get the contact information for parents from the school so we’re reaching out through other platforms to try and reach all the families so that we can have an inclusive event that all grads can attend.”

At this point, Henry feels that enough parents have shown interest to go ahead with the banquet planning with the ticket cost being $75. However, the committee would like to move forward with obtaining sponsorships so that the price may be reduced accordingly. The Parent Grad Committee is planning on starting ticket sales as of April 1 and unless sponsorship is obtained by then, the price will stay at $75 per person.

Parents are encouraged to attend an information night on Tuesday, March 29 at the Cochrane Legion starting at 7 p.m. During that meeting, the group will be talking about the grad banquet as well as the Safe Grad scheduled for June 4.
