The annual 'Kids Christmas Shopping Event’ at Cochrane Home Treasures is quickly approaching.

On December 5th, 2021, Home Treasures will open for kids between the ages of five and twelve to do their own shopping. "Kids can pay five dollars and they get to shop for five gifts for people on their list, like parents or siblings or maybe a special teacher, and they get them a little gift for Christmas.” Cayley Breeze, Store Manager for Cochrane Home Treasures explains.

“Most years, we would see probably maybe around 400 kids. But this year, it's a little scaled-down because we have to have people signed up due to the capacity limits.”

“We just have to make sure we keep everybody safe and that we have only a certain number of kids in the store at a time.”

This event has run for well over a decade now, but it will be the first time since Cochrane Home Treasures has moved to a new location.

“We're hoping to get approximately 200 kids through the store. That is our goal.”

All the money raised during the Kids Christmas Shopping Event goes right back into the community of Cochrane, such as donating to The Helping Hands Society or making sure there will be a 2021 edition of The Cochrane Light Up.

Anyone looking to participate in this year’s Kids Christmas Shopping Event needs to pre-register to lock in a spot. You can get more information by emailing Cochrane Home Treasures at  hometreasures@telus.net
