The immense talent of the Alberta Junior Female Hockey League (AJFHL) will be on display in Cochrane this Sunday for an afternoon to remember.

Starting at 11:30 a.m. and continuing until 6 p.m. it's a full afternoon of skills competitions, an all-star game, and league awards. There's also a special skills competition for the Jr. Chaos of the Cochrane Minor Hockey Association.

Forwards Kalaina Kozak, Kaley Mueller, and Brooklyn Carels, blueliners Nicole Johnson and Jordan Holt, goalie Ella Fournier as well as coach Greg Kozak will be representing the provincial champion Cochrane Chaos on the south division all-star team.

There are also players and coaching staffs participating from the Edmonton Wolves, Sherwood Park Steele, Fort Saskatchewan Fury, Central Alberta Amazons, Lethbridge Eagles, Calgary Jags, and Calgary Titans.

The Jr. Chaos skills competition will feature the provincial champion U13A Jr. Chaos as well as some members of the U15 Jr. Chaos.

Players from the Cochrane Chaos will be on-ice volunteers during the Jr. Chaos skills competition.

Events of the skills competitions are the fastest skater, fastest goaltender, hardest shot, most accurate shot, and top goalie.

Nominations have been narrowed down to the top three in each category of the league awards. The Chaos has made the shortlist for several of these awards. In the running are Jordan Holt, defense of the year, Kelly Stanford, forward of the Year, Derek Loomer, coach of the year, and the Cochrane Chaos, team of the year.

  • Skills Challenge - 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Jr. Chaos Showcase - 1:45 to 3 p.m.
  • All-Star Game - 3:15 to 5:30 p.m.
  • League Awards - 5:30 to 6 p.m.
