The membership of the Cochrane Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) has selected a new logo to reflect its growth and changing dynamics.

The winning design was submitted by 11-year-old Bryn Oaten and was the favorite in a vote of the association's membership. It received 38 per cent of the 200 votes cast.

The association received 16 submissions before the board of directors narrowed it down to four, then asked the membership to decide.

The prize is a $300 credit toward 2023-24 hockey fees that can be gifted or transferred to someone else.

CMHA's programs include Cochrane Rockies, Bow Valley Timberwolves, and Jr. Chaos, which will each continue to have their unique main logo. The new logo will be used as an additional crest when jerseys are replaced. It will also be used on its website, stationary, and for promotional purposes.

Bryn will be in attendance when the logo is revealed at the association's annual general meeting on May 24.

Registration for the 2023-24 season begins June 1 to 15 for returning members
