A Cochrane woman faces two charges and is one of two people arrested after an estimated $7,000 in stolen goods were discovered in a vehicle with a stolen licence plate by the Olds RCMP on Dec. 23.

Paige Ashlee, 19, of Cochrane, has been charged with theft over $5,000 – shoplifting, and possession of a controlled substance.

Brandon Ross Keller 32, of Vulcan, AB., faces even more charges after a search of a vehicle revealed an estimated $7,000 of products believed to have been stolen from multiple businesses, a stolen licence plate, stolen driver licence, multiple folding knives, and approximately 10g of suspected Methamphetamine.

Keller has been charged with two counts of property obtained by crime under $5,000, theft over $5,000 – shoplifting, possession of a controlled substance, and failure to comply.

RCMP were responding to a complaint of suspected shoplifting at an Olds business on 48 St. when they were informed Keller had left the scene in a vehicle, and Ashlee remained inside the store.

It was determined the licence plate on the vehicle was stolen, and Keller was arrested without incident. Ashlee was arrested when she exited the business.

Both accused were released and are set to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury on Feb. 26.
