Cochrane's Cody Matechuk has been riding bikes his whole life, and now you can see him perform jaw-dropping stunts at the Monster Energy Compound at the Calgary Stampede every day.

He's amongst five motocross riders who showcase their incredible skills during the 10-day event, performing 45 times.

The 29-year-old Cochrane resident said it's no small feat to perform several shows each day.

"It's definitely a marathon, it's a lot of work. Shoulders, upper body, core. You're doing squats every time you hit that ramp and jumping off that ramp. It's a full body workout. It's a grind."

In the winter Matechuk travels with freestyle snow biking on weekends, but it doesn't stop there.

"During the week when I have some time to myself, I'm flying off mountains. Being in Cochrane I live close to the mountains and it's anywhere from 35 minutes or more and I can get myself to a wingsuit base jump. I'm always doing something."

He said he was experienced in base jumping and slowly added the wingsuit into the mix.

"Wingsuit base jumping, you're flying between trees, you're flying down mountains. You're kind of looking at the mountains as a skier does and trying to flow with how the mountain flows."
