"Our reservoir levels have reached a critical state, which means we do not have the water necessary to action a large fire. This is critical."

That message from Shawn Polley, ECC Director, Town of Cochrane in a video posted on Tuesday morning.

The town is urging residents to conserve water.

"All Cochrane residents and businesses must adhere to emergency mandatory water conservation. Do not shower, do not wash dishes, do not run your laundry machines. We anticipate that some areas in our community will be without water soon."

This morning, the SLS Centre announced it will remain closed until further notice. It was shut at noon yesterday as the town deepened its water restrictions.

A press conference will provide an update at 1 p.m.

The Town of Cochrane declared a State of Local Emergency (SOLE) earlier today.
