Cochranites are invited to a special celebration to mark the official opening of Cochrane's new Protective Services Building.

RCMP officers officially starting working in the new $23 million building in Heartland last month.

The Canine Unit will be on hand and will offer demonstrations that showcase their impressive skills.

Residents will have a chance to see vehicles and equipment on display, and take a look in the public-facing area of the facility. 

There will also be historical memorabilia showcased from the Cochrane RCMP. 

This is an opportunity for community members to meet with local Mounties and members of Municipal Enforcement.

Refreshments and treats will be available. 

The event goes on Saturday, July 15 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The speeches and ribbon cutting will happen at 11 a.m.
