If you plan on travelling between Airdrie and Cochrane on Highway 567, you can expect delays for at least a month.

The construction zone is from Highway 22 all the way to Highway 772. The repaving of the route started on September 6 and is scheduled to last until October 14. 

You can expect speed reductions and lane closures in the area while construction is underway. Oversized loads will be accommodated through the work zones.

According to 511 Alberta, construction will be happening all throughout the week and will be active 24 hours a day.

For those travelling on the QEII, you can also expect some delays this week and into the next:

  • Lasting till Friday, September 15, there will be two lanes closed in both directions on the QEII in the vicinity of the 40th Avenue overpass. The Northbound shoulder and center lane will be closed, as well as the Southbound shoulder and center lane. These lane closures will begin at 9 p.m. and last till 6 a.m. each day.
  • On Monday, September 18, lasting till Friday, September 22, there will also be lane closures. There will be two lanes closed in both directions; the Northbound median and center lane, as well as the Southbound median and center lane. These lane closures will begin in the evening on Monday at 9 p.m. and last each day until 6 a.m.
