A comeback by the Okotoks Dawgs fell short in a 12-9 loss to the Medicine Hat Mavericks last night on the road.

The Dawgs attempted to rally in the ninth, scoring five runs to close the gap.

With the series now tied 1-1, a winner will be crowned tonight in Okotoks. The first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. at Seaman Stadium.

Last night's playoff loss was the first by the Dawgs in its campaign to successfully defend their title.

At home on Aug. 15, they shut out the Mavericks, 8-0.
