This Saturday (August 24), head on over to Cochrane's RBC Royal Bank and enjoy a free pancake breakfast while supporting the Cochrane Activettes food bank.

Debbie Wansink, Client Advisor, shares this is the first breakfast they have hosted and branch team members are looking forward to a great turn out. "We want to be involved in our community, and it is one of Royal Bank's core values."

Being a good neighbour and investing in the community is important, says Wansink, "The Cochrane Activettes are near and dear to our hearts as individuals in the branch; when we were given an opportunity to pick an organization (as a branch) that we would want to support, we immediately thought of the Cochrane Activettes."

No stranger when it comes to supporting various events, initiatives, and charities that benefit the Cochrane area; Wansink says, in fact, when you see bank staff members trade in their professional clothes for more casual attire, there is a reason. "If you ever come into the bank and you see us wearing jeans, that is because each team member here has donated personal funds for the United Way which support local Cochrane charities."

The Cochrane Activettes food bank can always use support this time of year as the next big food drive (September 14) is still a few weeks away. Jan Tracy, President of the Cochrane Activettes, shares they are currently in need of rice, canned pasta, Kraft dinner, 100% juice boxes, peanut free granola bars, fruit cups, canned meat- especially salmon, toothbrushes and toothpaste, as well as Kleenex.

The free pancake breakfast will run rain or shine on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:30, and both monetary and non-perishable food donations will be accepted.
