The Rocky View Rage fought back from a 2-1 deficit to beat the Strathmore Venom, 4-3, last night in Jr. B T2 lacrosse action.

Down 2-1, the Rage scored two goals within the first three minutes of the third to grab the lead. Damien Poncelet notched the eventual game winner from Carter Foote and Jayden Klumpp at the halfway mark.

Venom Judah Nation brought Strathmore within one with 7:10 remaining but a series of penalties fizzled out their chance to tie the match.

Frustration did boil over in the latter part of the period and carried on briefly after the final buzzer sounded.

Head coach Reese Sellwood says the team didn't perform up to expectations in the first two periods.

"We went back to some really bad habits that we used to have, so we went into the dressing room after the second and told them to start fresh and it's a brand-new game, and they scored a couple."

Seven games into the season, the Rage are 4-3 and are at the Brentwood Sportsplex this afternoon (May 26) to face the Wranglers, who are just two points behind them in the standings.

The Rage host the Stingers on Friday night and the Heat in a Saturday matinee at Totem Two of the SLS Centre.
