The Cochrane Generals may have commanded the Three Hill Thrashers, 10-3, last night, but don't expect the same result today.

The Gens are hosting the red-hot Coaldale Copperheads today (Dec. 3) at 3 p.m. in Totem One.

The Copperheads had a nine-game winning streak interrupted by a single loss to the Sylvan Lake Wranglers last week but have won two more since. On Nov. 26, they beat the Gens, 6-5, in a shoot-out at the SLS Centre. Last night, they doubled the Okotoks Bisons, 4-2, to become only the second team to beat the Bisons this season. (the Gens were the first).

Last night, the Gens dominated the Thrashers from the opening face-off. The Gens had accumulated a 6-0 lead before the Thrashers got their first of two goals at 13:41 of the second. The Gens were ahead 8-1 when Three Hills got their only other goal 4:11 into the third. Both came off of the stick of August Olson, the Thrashers leading scorer.

Christopher Ugbaja got his first hat-trick of the season, Diago Coelho had two goals and a five-point night, and while he didn't score, Colby Agyeman had five assists.

TristanGens captain Tristan Ripplinger scored two last night to reach the 25-goal plateau in 19 games.

Tristan Ripplinger now has 25 goals in 19 games with two goals on the night. He continues to lead the league in goals and is second overall in points.

Evan Plewes, Zach Wilkins, and Stephen Jones rounded out the Gens scoring.
