During the first week of June (June 2-8), Cochrane and the rest of Alberta will tip their hat and show appreciation to our senior population as we celebrate Seniors' Week.

Yesterday (May 22), Canlin Energy Corporation's Kaili Dale and Tim Adams presented a 2,000 dollar cheque to Brenda Dennis, FCSS Community Liaison and Programmer for Older Adults to support the popular seniors' week events here in Cochrane.

There will be a lot of activities for seniors to partake in, says Dennis, and contributions such as this one, only bolster the experiences seniors' week offers. "The money will go towards supporting all of our activities. We are renting facilities; we have lots of entertainment coming, classic country shows so the money will be put towards that. That money helps us to make our events richer and gives us more possibilities; it is appreciated."

As far as new events this year, Dennis shares a new partnership with the Stockmen's Memorial Foundation is something seniors may want to consider. "It is something we are excited about because reaching ranching families will add a whole different demographic of seniors to our mix."

From the Canlin Energy Corporation side of things, Dale says, Seniors' Week is a great addition to other Town of Cochrane initiatives they already support. "We haven't done anything like support Seniors' Week before, and when I met with Brenda, she explained all the amazing activities, and it is just a whole other entity of our community. In talking with Tim, we are revamping where we want our community investment to go, and we want to make a large impact."
