An open house will go ahead this week in Cochrane that will give the public the chance to see plans to harvest trees in an area near Bragg Creek that is known for its extensive network of trails used by cyclists, hikers, and cross-country skiers.

In 2026, West Fraser Cochrane, previously known as Spray Lake Sawmills, plans to harvest lumber from recreation areas, including West Bragg Creek and Moose Mountain.

Residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the plans at the Cochrane open house on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cochrane RancheHouse. There will be another open house on Thursday in Hillcrest from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hillcrest Fish & Game Hall.
