Conservative MP Blake Richards wants to hear from Cochranites.

It is time to talk federal budget and MP Richards is anticipating conversation to flow at a variety of round table discussions throughout the riding.

While these discussions are geared towards discussing the budget MP Richards is open to hear thoughts, opinions, and ideas from constituents.

"I am quite concerned, as I know many constituents are, at the direction that were seeing from this federal government right now in terms of lack of support for our workers that are unemployed, lack of support for our energy industry (phasing out our oilsands), and of course the direction from taxes."

MP Richards is hoping people are open and vocal when it comes to discussing what people want the government to do and stop doing.

Information from the consultations will be directly presented to the Minister of Finance in an open letter, voicing concerns from constituents in the riding.

Richards is anticipating to hear more feedback this year as anger and frustration spillover from constituents.

"We have a provincial and federal government that just doesn't seem to get it. What they're looking to do in a time when we are having trouble, you feel like you're being kicked when you're down, your seeing taxes increased when you're already trying to figure out how to make ends meet because your out of work. Instead of trying to do what they can to help get you back to work they're putting more taxes on top of it, shutting down your industry. Those things are not going to help."

Cochranites are invited to meet up Wednesday January 18, 5:45 at the Cochrane Toyota Community Room. if you can't make it in person Richards invites you to voice your opinion at his website here.
