Good news for those who prefer warmer temperatures.

The Nunavut cold weather system that has been locked over us creating the bitterly cold wind chill pattern is finally moving into more of a warming trend.  The westerly winds are blowing in and helping to slide the arctic air away.

Brian Proctor, Weather Specialist, Environment Canada says good news is on the way for those who prefer the more moderate temperature weather.

"We are really into that warming pattern now. The rest of the week is going to see moderate temperatures with really warm air coming in by the weekend."

Proctor adds that a significant Chinook should be here by Monday, bringing temperatures up to +14.
