The RCMP Major Crimes Unit is hoping the public can help them in tracing the activities of a stolen vehicle discovered near Cochrane, containing human remains.

On November 3, at 10:25 a.m., Cochrane RCMP responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle near the Widowmaker Trail Head in Bow Valley Provincial Park.

When officers arrived they found a 1998 White Dodge Ram with Alberta license plate CNF-1057, with human remains inside.

According to police, this same truck was stolen from the northwest Calgary community of Dalhousie in the early morning hours of Oct. 24.

An autopsy was performed on Monday, but police are not releasing the results pending notification of next of kin.

If you have any information or saw the truck between October 24 and November 3, you're asked to contact Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000. Or if you want to remain anonymous, you can submit tips through Crime Stoppers.
