Cochrane's growing position as a hub for Internet of Things (IoT) companies has spurred holding a session tonight at the Cochrane RancheHouse.

Building Smart Cities with IoT Technology is the focus of an evening that includes guest speakers and exhibitors.

Keynote speakers Matt Ludwig and Patrick Giroux, of PCL Construction, will be explaining the company's strategy to integrate IoT and advanced analytics,

"I think it's going to be very educational and quite enlightening for our audience," says Brenda Beckedorf, executive director of Alberta IoT Association.

Among the other speakers is Mayor Jeff Genung.

After its launch in February, the association quickly learned how Cochrane is positioning itself as a tech hub.

"When we started talking to Cochrane Economic and the Town of Cochrane and found out you were doing this whole initiative around it just seemed to make sense to collaborate."

A limited number of tickets remain and can be booked here right up the start.

There's a reception at 6 p.m. Presentations start at 7 p.m.
