Cochranite Lindsay Wilson is hosting an Alberta Proud Can’t Stop Alberta Tour, which begins in Calgary on Apr. 3 and 4.

The grassroots advocacy group is hitting the road to host weekday pub events with featured speakers to discuss key issues, such as affordability, energy, jobs, the economy, education, crime, public safety, and standing up for Alberta. It has been timed to discuss the most critical issues facing Albertans before the May 29th provincial election.

Panel speakers range from advocacy to policy experts, including Peter McCaffrey from The Alberta Institute, who will co-moderate the panel discussions with host Wilson.

Calgary speakers include Kris Sims from the Canadian Taxpayers’ Federation, Cory Morgan from The Western Standard, Josh Andrus from Project Confederation, Ward 13 Councillor Dan McLean, Post Media columnist Rick Bell, Kristy Koehler from Common Sense Calgary, Jeff Park from the Alberta Parents’ Union and Colleen Parks and John Picard from the Calgary Classical Academy.

The event is designed to be highly interactive and will provide attendees ample time to ask questions of the panelists.

The first stop is at Ceili’s Royal Oak, 8650 112 Ave. NW tonight at 6 p.m. Tuesday's event is at Brickwell Taphouse, 6219 Centre St NW #11.

Wilson is president of Alberta Proud, created to champion all things Alberta, especially the province's energy sector, which they believe is the best in the world.

In an earlier interview with Cochrane Now, Wilson said the grassroots organization came about after looking at what has transpired over the last decade and how they saw radical politicians and many misinformed celebrities launching an assault on Alberta and its energy sector.

"We want people to stand up and show that they're proud of our province, they're proud of our pipelines and our energy and what we've accomplished and how we can just build on that and improve, while at the same time taking care of our environment for the future generations to enjoy. We're very proud of Alberta, and we're very proud of Canada, too."

She says Alberta Proud's mission is to showcase Alberta as one of the best, most beautiful, and most innovative places in the world to live.

The tour continues in Edmonton on Apr. 12, and in St. Albert the following day. It will be in Red Deer on Apr. 20 and in Lethbridge on Apr. 24.
