Shopping locally and supporting our homegrown Cochrane businesses is still something we can all subscribe to, even with the move back to step One.

Owner of Quirk Social, Kailey Mitchell says that The Spring Pop Up Market is still a go for this weekend.

"It's considered retail so we're able to operate at 15 per cent capacity," says Mitchell. " For us, that means 17 people in the space at one time, that doesn't include the vendors."

The Spring Pop Up Market is a great opportunity to shop and support a number of local businesses, under the same roof.

Mitchell says that a market-style shopping experience is ideal with the current rules in place.

"We have a pretty consistent flow of people," says Mitchell. "We never have too many people waiting which is kind of nice."

Mitchell says that COVID measures have been in place at all Quirk Social's events over the past year, and the move back to Step One won't be a major change.

"Masks, hand sanitizer, social distancing, all the same restrictions that have been in place," says Mitchell. "It's just mainly the capacity difference."

Quirk Social's previous markets have proven to be a safe shopping experience. The Spring Pop Up Market runs all weekend long.

Shoppers can pop by The Social Spot this evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Swag bags are available for the first 50 shoppers.

The Social Spot is located in the old IGA building at 609 1st Street West in Cochrane.
