Wild Wild Wyatt is a 17-year old teen from Calgary who is not letting Down Syndrome slow him down.

He is learning the ropes of running his own pop-up shops featuring second-hand Stampede wear. Wyatt's mom Deanne, who has been with him every step of the way says this experience is invaluable. "It gives Wyatt a chance to meet lots of people and give him some valuable customer service skills and get him some experience and have a line item for his resume."

Deanne continues, that they have only been at it for three months and this is their first pop-up. " It's a pretty new idea and it just took off on us, it's gotten to be a little bigger than we thought but we are embracing that."

The pair have become staples at thrift stores around Calgary, accumulating near-new and vintage western wear. Wyatt says he has always liked cowboys and the Calgary Stampede. "People are always wearing cowboy stuff."

March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day. Cochrane's Flirt Cosmetic Studio hosted the pop-up from 12-3 p.m.

Deanne is close friends with the owners." Sheri and Ciara are long-time friends of ours and have been huge supporters of Wyatt his whole life and so it just seemed like a great fit so they suggested this would be a wonderful way to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day and they just embraced the concept and idea and got us out here and we are super happy to be here in Cochrane."

There are plans to run a couple more pop-ups in Calgary in the coming months.

All profits from the sale will be going to the PREP Society. The PREP Society is a resource centre for families with a child with Down Syndrome and has been instrumental in supporting Wyatt on his journey. Deanne continues" Wyatt has been at PREP since birth and it has given him the skills in terms of speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy to really embrace an inclusive life for him."
