Greystone Phase 6 land-use amendments have been approved by Cochrane town council which will add more houses and slightly increase park and recreation land while reducing the special commercial district.

All of the changes have been made within the Greystone Area C Neighbourhood Plan. Approximately 4.42 acres of land from the Special Industrial district (I-S) is now a Residential Low Density district (RLD), about 4.28 acres of the I-S has been converted to Residential Mix District (R-MX), and approximately 0.18 acres of I-S is now classified as Parks and Recreation District.

The parks and recreation parcel included in the land-use amendment will form part of a larger central park in an upcoming future phase of development.

Recently, Calgary Co-operative Association Limited announced its plan to develop a grocery store and an additional 30,000 sq. ft. of commercial retail space in Greystone.

Burnswest Properties Ltd, which is developing Greystone, has said in the past a new hotel will be part of the development, but no formal announcement has been made at this point.
