Local Realtor and avid motorcyclist Ken Morris raised $12,500 for Big Hill Haven this summer with his Ride for Shelter fundraiser.

Joined by five local friends, Morris led a one-day motorcycle ride from Cochrane to Jasper and back in one day, covering over 800 km.

“A few of my friends who are passionate about shelters agreed to join me for the ride to raise funds. It was a great trip, and we want to thank everyone who supported us,” says Morris.

The Ride for Shelter supported the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation’s focus to fund women’s shelters and violence prevention programs. Every dollar raised from the ride was donated directly to Big Hill Haven.

“Ken is a great friend of Big Hill Haven, and we appreciate his continued support,” says Tara McFadden, the society's fund development officer. “It is help like this that enables Big Hill Haven to provide assistance and shelter to women and children who are experiencing domestic abuse in our community. Royal LePage and their local realtors are valued contributors in our work.”
