Cochrane's Sunset Ridge residents no longer need to seek shelter.

The RCMP have lifted the shelter-in-place order for the neighbourhood.

RCMP Public Information Officer, Cpl Lacey Blair said "At around 6:45 p.m. Cochrane RCMP responded to a firearms complaint in the Sunset neighbourhood. At this time there are no reported injuries. The shelter-in-place was lifted and we don't believe there is a risk to the public."

There is still a heavy police presence in the area.

"We believe the suspect has left the area, and no longer poses a threat to the area."

"No one has been arrested at this time," said Blair.

Cochrane RCMP, and members from the Stoney Nakoda RCMP detachment responded.

An investigation is underway. No other details are currently available.
