The province saw 425 new cases on Friday, March 12 with 257 people in the hospital and 38 of those in ICU. 

There were nine cases of the UK variant reported.

Sadly, two more deaths were recorded bringing the total in the province to 1,935.

Cochrane dropped one active case for a total of 38 and Rocky View County added six cases for a total of 34.

AHS is reporting that as of 11:30 Friday morning, an additional 15,000 Albertans had signed up to receive the COVIShield/AstraZeneca vaccine. Bringing the total to more than 40,000 since the booking opened on Wednesday morning.

Albertans in the eligible age groups may continue to book their appointments. 

Those eligible are, Albertans born in 1957, 1958, 1959, and 1960 who can book appointments online or by calling 811.

First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people born in 1972, 1973, 1974, and 1975 can all book by calling 811.

AHS says pending the vaccine supply, additional Albertans will be offered a chance to book in the coming days.
