With milder temperatures and lots of snow you may want to try an alternative to sledding, skiing, or snowboarding.

Canada Olympic Park (COP) is home to the 'Acura Tube Park', Western Canada's largest of it's kind.

Dale Oviatt, WinSport, Senior Manager of Communications, says December 17 was opening day and the number of visitors grows each and every day.

"It has been well received by everyone, with the nice weather people have been anxious to get out there and enjoy the snow."

The tube park consists of 10 lanes, says Oviatt, with 8 of those being 200 metres each and 2 shorter runs for younger kids.

"The minimum height requirement is 36 inches tall, any kids between 36 and 42 can go down the kids lanes by themselves or they can go with their parents on our multi tube lanes. They are essentially linked together with their tubes and then they go down, but every person goes separately on a tube."

Besides bringing your adventurous spirit, remember to dress for appropriate weather that can change on a dime. No ski boots are allowed on the tube park and helmets are not mandatory but strongly recommended.

Oviatt also reminds riders to leave their own tube at home.

"We have got 400 brand new tubes that are raring to go, so all you have to do is basically show up at guest services and pick up your ticket. After that you can reload them on line so that you don't even have to go to guest services."
