The Cochrane Pregnancy Care Centre remains a steadfast support for local women facing unexpected pregnancies.

This local non-profit is gearing up to host its 30 Years of Hope - Fall Gala.

Susan Campbell, executive director, said this is their main fundraiser for the year.

"The money we raise goes to helping us support and educate people who experience unplanned or unexpected pregnancy and related issues. It allows us to offer these services for free. We have over 200 courses."

The centre offers a wide variety of services for all mothers.

So far in 2023, the centre has served 379 clients.

There will be live music and both a live auction and a cake auction at the event.

"We have 10 cakes that some professionals and some home-baked have made and we're going to live auction them off for dessert. You can have a bidding war at your table or at other tables for which cakes you want. It's going to be a lot of fun."

Tickets will also be available for a travel package as part of a silent auction.

Campbell said they are currently looking for volunteers, "We look for women and men who have a heart to walk alongside others who have experienced some kind of trauma. It takes about six months to complete the training course before you get to see clients."

Tickets are $75 for an individual or $550 for a table of eight.

The fall gala is on Nov. 24 at the Cochrane RancheHouse.
