On July 20, 2023, Didsbury RCMP received a report of a sexual assault involving a minor that occurred on July 19, 2023, at a cabaret following the Dog Pound Rodeo in or near the event grounds.

The suspect, known as "Carter," is described as having a fair complexion, being slightly obese, approximately 6 feet tall, with dirty blonde, possibly mullet-style, hair. He was last seen wearing a light-coloured button-up shirt, blue jeans, and boots.
