Regina Exhibition Association has rebranded it's property renaming Evraz Place as "REAL District".

President and CEO Tim Reid says the change is a result of extensive stakeholder engagement, months of work and an agreement with Evraz that ended in May 2021.

The name change was originally planned for later this month, but with the war in the Ukraine and the Russian connection with Evraz, REAL decided to move up the announcement.

Evraz North America’s Regina facility had the naming rights for 15 years when they were first known as Ipsco, which was a locally owned company.

Ipsco would later sell out to Evraz one of the top steel producers in the World with operations in Russia, the U-S, Canada, the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan.

REAL President Tim Reid says REAL's new name follow's in suit with what we see happening in other locations like the Edmonton Ice District.

The REAL District name received overwhelming support from REAL stakeholders and is in line with the organization’s long-term site planning.

The 100 acre property is home to Mosaic Stadium, the Brandt Centre, Co-operators Centre and the Viterra International Trade Centre.

The site is also home to Canada's Farm Progress Show and Canadian Western Agribition.
