Rocky View County’s spring road bans are in effect and will remain so until June 13, 2022.

The following restrictions apply to commercial and heavy vehicles during the ban period:

  • 90 per cent on paved and gravel roads
  • 75 per cent on chip-sealed and oil-surfaced roads
  • 50 per cent on roads where conditions require

The purpose of road bans is to extend the life span of County roads while reducing road repairs and making them safer for motorists.

Spring is the optimal time due to spring thaw and frost movement which makes roads more susceptible to damage.

County enforcement officials will be doing spot checks across the County.

The bans do not include passenger and recreational vehicles.
