With only a few summer nights left, a frost advisory has been issued for the Cochrane area.

"Patchy frost is expected tonight as overnight temperatures fall to zero degrees Celsius," reads a statement from Environment Canada.

"Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees."

Frost advisories are placed when temperatures dip below the freezing mark during the growing season. Frost has the potential to damage plants and crops.
